Generate free electricity.
- Sunlight to Electricity: Solar panels, also known as photovoltaic (PV) panels, are made of silicon and other materials that convert sunlight into electricity.
- Immediate Use or Storage: The electricity generated can be used directly to power your home appliances or stored in batteries for later use, especially when the sun isn't shining, such as at night.
- Reduced Grid Reliance: By using solar-generated electricity, you decrease the amount of electricity you need to draw from the National Grid, leading to lower electricity bills.
- Increased Home Value:Solar panels can increase the value of your property, making it a worthwhile investment. It will also increase the EPC rating of your property.
Solar battery storage.
- Reduced Electricity Bills: Storing and using excess solar energy, especially during peak demand periods when utility rates are higher, can significantly lower electricity bills.
- Increased Energy Independence: Homeowners gain greater control over their energy usage and become less reliant on the grid, especially valuable where net metering policies are less favorable.
- Backup Power During Outages: Solar batteries provide a reliable backup power source during blackouts or emergencies, ensuring essential appliances continue to operate and offering peace of mind.
- Minimized Carbon Footprint: By maximizing the use of clean, renewable energy, homeowners can further reduce their environmental impact and decrease reliance on fossil fuels.
- Enhanced Grid Stability: By using stored energy during peak hours, homeowners reduce the demand on the electrical grid, potentially contributing to a more stable energy supply
Access cheap off-peak energy as low as 6p KWH.
Understand time-of-use tariffs:
- These tariffs charge different rates for electricity depending on the time of day.
- Off-peak periods, usually overnight (e.g., 12 am to 7 am), have lower rates due to lower demand.
- Peak periods, typically during the day and evenings, have higher rates when demand is highest.
Shift your energy usage:
- To maximise savings, try to shift your electricity-intensive activities to off-peak hours.
- Appliances like washing machines, dishwashers, and tumble dryers often have timers for delayed starts.
- Smart meters can provide half-hourly consumption data, helping you to identify and adjust usage patterns
Charge your car for free with solar or with cheap off peak energy as low as 6p kWH.
It is possible to charge an electric vehicle (EV) for free using solar power.. This involves installing solar panels on your home or property and using the electricity generated to power your EV charger. You can maximize the benefit by ensuring the solar system is sized appropriately and considering battery storage for nighttime charging.
Export tariffs allows you to send excess solar energy back to the grid and receive credits, which can be used to offset the cost of charging your EV at night at loe rates as little as 6p KWH.
With a battery storage system, you can store excess solar energy during the day and use it to charge your EV at night.
